Noir/Food Painting @HOANG BELI (Paris)
It was an immense honor to be part of the opening show “Noir” at the HOANG BELI Gallery—a space that celebrates bold creativity with quiet elegance. My deepest gratitude goes to John, the owner of the gallery whose vision and generosity created the perfect canvas for this exploration.
This piece was among the most challenging I’ve ever composed. Working within the poetic constraint of only three purées, I discovered new depth in limitation—each stroke, each texture demanded intention. My movement has to be cohesive to the music of Chopin, which was also a new practice for me to perform. By embracing unconventional tools and gestures, I let the ingredients speak through movement and form. The process became not just about food, but about restraint, rhythm, and resonance.
Moments like this reaffirm why I create: to push boundaries, awaken the senses, and connect more intimately with the unseen layers of flavor, color, and emotion.
